This Privacy Policy describes how Workcastr (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites (including workcastr.com) and our time-tracking application (the “Service”) available at app.workcastr.com.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your email address, display name (if provided), and a password hash. We do not store your password in plain text.

Service data. You may submit time entries, planned items, project names, people and tags (including text you type in descriptions), and related metadata needed to operate the Service.

Calendar connections (optional). If you connect Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, or add an iCalendar (ICS) URL, we process calendar event data needed to import or sync events into the Service, and we store OAuth tokens or connection details required to maintain that integration until you disconnect.

Technical data. We collect standard server and security logs (such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and pages requested) to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.

Cookies and sessions. We use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in and maintain session security.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to provide, maintain, and improve the Service; authenticate users; send transactional communications (such as password reset or security notices) when applicable; comply with law; and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of our users and the Service.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who assist us in hosting, email delivery, security, or analytics, subject to appropriate safeguards and only as needed to perform their functions.
  • Integration providers (for example, Google or Microsoft) when you choose to connect those services, according to your permissions and their policies.
  • Legal and safety when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice as required by law.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account or certain data as described below. We may retain limited records where required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You may also disconnect calendar integrations from your account settings within the Service.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws. If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA (we do not sell personal information as those terms are defined).

7. International users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate, which may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (for example, by email or in-app notice).
